Beginning July 1, we are pleased to welcome Cornell students, faculty, and staff and non-Cornell visitors to use the reading room by appointment.
We offer appointments in three-hour blocks of 10-1 and 1-4, Monday through Friday. You are welcome to reserve one block or a full day, or multiple blocks throughout a week. Priority for appointments is given to Cornell affiliates. Due to reduced capacity in the reading room, we recommend contacting us at least a week in advance of your desired visit to make an appointment.
To make an appointment email us with the following information:
- Please indicate if you are a visitor from outside Cornell University. If you are affiliated with Cornell, please indicate status: student, faculty, or staff member.
- Your first and second choice of date and time. Out-of-town researchers, please let us know how long you plan to be here.
- The collections you plan to use.
Note that many collections are not stored onsite and require at least two business days to arrive.
A staff member from RMC will be in contact once your request is received, and if needed will set up a consultation to discuss your project. Please do not make travel plans until you have received written confirmation of your appointment time and date.
