We are pleased to welcome Cornell students, employees, and non-Cornell visitors to use the reading room by appointment.

Our reading room is open 10:00-12:30 and 1:30-4:00, Monday through Friday. You are welcome to request an appointment during those hours. The minimum appointment time is one hour. You may also request the full 2.5 hours we are open in the morning and afternoon. Priority for appointments is given to Cornell affiliates. Due to high demand in the reading room, we recommend contacting us at least a week in advance of your desired visit to make an appointment.
To make an appointment log into or create an account with us. Click on the Appointments tab across the top of the screen and choose the date and time you wish to visit. For more information, and step-by-step directions, please see our Quick Start Guide.
Note that many collections are not stored onsite and require at least two business days to arrive.
A staff member from RMC will be in contact once your request is received, and if needed will set up a consultation to discuss your project. Please do not make travel plans until you have received written confirmation of your appointment time and date.
If you are planning a visit from outside Cornell, we strongly recommend that you email us in advance to discuss the length of your visit and the collections you plan to use to ensure they are available for use.
